Very light yellow with brilliant reflections Upon opening, the nose reveals a bouquet of white currant, lime, eucalyptus and crushed rock. The fleshy fruitiness and floating florality are conveyed by the high proportion of chalk, which gives an exciting cloudy volume. The palate is held by a vibrant intensity and a dazzling clarity, the long and sapid finish is based on aging in wood that is simply divine!
Didier Dagueneau’s son Louis-Benjamin (whose name now appears on the label) is in charge of the Domaine that his recently deceased and much-lamented father brought to such notoriety. Benjamin Dagueneau – whose intense focus is obvious – has been working alongside his father for several years, and the crew here – one person each for the estate’s 11 hectares (27 acres) – are no doubt exceptionally capable of carrying on. This Blanc Fume de Pouilly opens with bright lemon-yellow colour with golden highlights. The aromas are fine and delicate with notes of lemon zest, flint, lemon blossoms and pears. The wine is perfectly balanced between lively acidity and intense concentration in flavours on more candied notes than on the nose. Lots of sapidity around the white fruit. Very beautiful harmony between mineral and weft acid. Good persistence.

Didier Dagueneau is a renowned wine producer from the Loire Valley in France. The estate is located in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation, which is known for producing some of the finest Sauvignon Blanc wines in the world. The estate was founded by Didier's father, Marcel Dagueneau, in the 1960s, and Didier took over in the 1980s.

Didier Dagueneau was a pioneer in the region, and he was known for his innovative approach to winemaking. He was one of the first producers in the Loire Valley to use oak barrels for aging his wines, and he was also one of the first to use wild yeasts for fermentation. These techniques have since been adopted by many other producers in the region.

The wines produced by Didier Dagueneau are known for their complexity and depth of flavor. They are made from grapes grown on the estate's 11 hectares of vineyards, which are planted on the famous Kimmeridgian limestone soils that are found in the region. The wines are fermented in oak barrels and aged on their lees for several months, which gives them a rich, creamy texture.

The estate produces several different wines, including Pouilly-Fumé, Pouilly-sur-Loire, and Sancerre. The Pouilly-Fumé is the flagship wine of the estate, and it is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The wine is known for its intense aromas of citrus and tropical fruits, as well as its minerality and acidity. The Pouilly-sur-Loire is made from 100% Chasselas grapes, and it is a lighter, more delicate wine with notes of white flowers and citrus. The Sancerre is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, and it is a rich, full-bodied red wine with flavors of red fruit and spice.

Didier Dagueneau passed away in 2008, but his legacy lives on through his wines. The estate is now run by his son, Benjamin Dagueneau, who continues to produce some of the finest wines in the Loire Valley.
