The lemon coloured 2016 Blanc de Blancs is rounder than usual, due to the hot summer of 2016. Ripe and intense Chardonnay, with vanilla brioche flavours on the nose lead to an intense, but remarkably pure and fresh palate. It has load of minerality. Very intense and persistent in the finish, but still with great finesse.

Deutz is a renowned champagne producer based in the Champagne region of France. Founded in 1838 by William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, the house has a long and rich history of producing high-quality champagnes that are enjoyed by wine enthusiasts all over the world.

Deutz champagnes are known for their elegance, finesse, and complexity. The house produces a range of champagnes, including vintage, non-vintage, and prestige cuvées. The grapes used in the production of Deutz champagnes are sourced from the best vineyards in the Champagne region, and the wines are aged in the house's cellars for several years before release.

One of the unique features of Deutz champagnes is the use of oak barrels in the production process. The house uses a combination of stainless steel tanks and oak barrels to ferment and age the wines, which gives them a distinctive character and depth of flavour.

Deutz champagnes are made using the traditional method, which involves a second fermentation in the bottle. This process gives the wines their signature bubbles and creates a complex and nuanced flavour profile.

The house produces several different cuvées, each with its own unique style and character. The Deutz Brut Classic is a non-vintage champagne that is fresh, lively, and elegant, with notes of citrus and white flowers. The Deutz Blanc de Blancs is a vintage champagne made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, which gives it a delicate and refined character. The Deutz Amour de Deutz is a prestige cuvée that is only produced in exceptional vintages. It is a complex and rich champagne with notes of honey, brioche, and toasted almonds.

Overall, Deutz is a producer that is known for its commitment to quality and tradition. Its champagnes are elegant, refined, and complex, and are enjoyed by wine enthusiasts all over the world.

In 1668, Dom Pérignon is said to have discovered how to make sparkling wine; today his technique is used the world over, although Champagne continues to make some of the finest. France’s most northerly wine region, Champagne is now home to 15,000 growers and 290 ‘houses’. A blend of grape varieties is usually required: white Chardonnay to add fruit and elegance, and two reds – Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier – to provide body and backbone.
