The lemon coloured 2010 Blanc de Blancs is rounder than usual, due to the hot summer of 2010. Ripe and intense Chardonnay, with vanilla brioche flavours on the nose lead to an intense, but remarkably pure and fresh palate. It has load of minerality. Very intense and persistent in the finish, but still with great finesse.
Founded in 1838, Deutz is still situated in one of the region’s greatest villages, Aÿ, where the family – now represented by Jean Lallier, sixth generation descendant of founder William Deutz – owns 42 hectares vineyards and a magnificent residence in Bellepoque style.
In 1993 the House was taken over by another financial partner, Louis Roederer champagne House, though the two kept operating independently and have different styles and characteristics.
