Tasting notes

Pale ruby-purple in colour, the Pinot Noir has a nose of freshly crushed red cherries, cranberries and raspberry leaves with hints of forest floor and mossy bark. Medium-bodied, it gives a good amount of red berry and earthy flavors in the mouth with a low to medium level of finely grained tannins and bright acid. It finishes long.

About this wine

Dalrymple is a renowned wine producer located in Tasmania, Australia. The winery is known for its exceptional Pinot Noir, which is produced using traditional methods and the finest grapes. The history of the winery dates back to the early 1980s when the founders, David and Diana Morris, purchased the land and began planting vines. Today, the winery is owned by the Hill-Smith family, who have continued the tradition of producing high-quality wines.

The style of production at Dalrymple is focused on minimal intervention, allowing the grapes to express their unique characteristics. The winery uses sustainable farming practices and handpicks the grapes to ensure only the best fruit is used in the wine. The Pinot Noir is aged in French oak barrels, which adds complexity and depth to the wine.

The Pinot Noir produced by Dalrymple is a true reflection of the terroir of Tasmania. The cool climate and unique soil composition create a wine that is elegant, complex, and full of character. The wine has a deep ruby colour and aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, and spice. On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied, with flavours of black fruit, earthy notes, and a hint of oak. The tannins are firm but well-integrated, providing structure and balance to the wine.

Dalrymple also produces other wines, including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Gris. These wines are also of exceptional quality and reflect the unique terroir of Tasmania. The winery has won numerous awards and accolades for its wines, including the James Halliday Wine Companion 5-star rating.

If you are looking for a high-quality Pinot Noir that is a true reflection of the terroir of Tasmania, look no further than Dalrymple. Their commitment to traditional methods, sustainable farming practices, and minimal intervention produces wines of exceptional quality and character.
