The 2008 Barolo Vigneto Cannubi is another striking wine from Burlotto in this vintage. The 2008 is quite young, in fact there is little in the way of aromatic complexity or definition at present. Still, the wine’s structural brilliance is evident and it is only a matter of time before the other elements take shape more fully in the bottle. A gorgeous, refined finish completes this beautifully balanced, harmonious Barolo. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028. This is another strong set of wines from Burlotto. Over the last few years the winery seems to have made a major jump in quality. The traditional style here remains a bit quirky but readers who are willing to take some time to explore these Baroli will be amply rewarded.
