Produced from Encruzado grapes from a vineyard over 40 years old, they decided to revisit the traditional way of winemaking white wines at Casa da Passarella, which led to the discovery that, in the past, whites were fermented in “curtimenta” (skin contact) – just like the reds. Historical research reinforced their conviction and commitment to this method, the result of which is now in sight.
Casa da Passarela Villa Oliveira Encruzado is an elegant, dense and captivating white wine with delicious and complex citrus aromas. It presents delicious citrus aromas, aromas of orange peel, nuances of lime and also some wild red fruits and toasted bread. It is an extraordinarily smooth, aromatic Dão wine, with an intense minerality and fantastic acidity.
