Tasting notes

Blackcurrant and dark plum on the nose, with a savoury graphite edge typical of Listrac-Médoc. The palate is firm and structured, Cabernet Sauvignon giving grip while Merlot fills the middle. Finish is dry, earthy, built for the table rather than early drinking.

About this wine

Château Clarke, the flagship estate of Baron Edmond de Rothschild in Listrac Médoc, produces wines of distinctive elegance and structure. This red Bordeaux blend combines Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to create a full-bodied wine with firm tannins and rich black fruit character. The Left Bank terroir of Listrac Médoc, with its gravelly plateau and exceptional drainage, imparts mineral complexity and aging potential to every vintage.

Baron Edmond de Rothschild's winemaking philosophy emphasizes respect for the vineyard and traditional Bordeaux techniques, resulting in wines that balance power with refinement. At 14.3% ABV, this is a dry, concentrated expression ideal for serious wine collectors and those seeking authentic Médoc character. The firm tannin structure and full body make it an excellent pairing for beef, lamb, and rich pork dishes, whether at a fine dining table or a private villa cellar.
