The Laphroaig distillery of Islay offers an exceptional product with its 30-year-old Laphroaig. From whiskies distilled in 1985 and matured for three decades in Bourbon casks, this rare Single Malt condenses 30 years of aromas and maturation in the bottle. For John Campbell, master distiller of Laphroaig, the bottling in 2016 of this unique Laphroaig 30 years old edition distilled in 1985 and aged exclusively in barrels of Bourbon remains a "unique moment". With its 53.5°, this whisky is powerful, complex and very aromatic. It reveals very fruity notes of mandarin, mango, coconut with hints of almond and smoke tips. The set has beautiful spices of vanilla, coriander and ginseng.

Islay is a small island located off the west coast of Scotland, known for its peaty and smoky single malt whiskies. The island has a long history of whisky production, dating back to the early 18th century. The unique character of Islay whisky is attributed to the island's peat bogs, which are used to dry the malted barley, giving the whisky its distinctive smoky flavor.

Islay is home to eight working distilleries, each with its own unique style and character. Ardbeg, Laphroaig, and Lagavulin are among the most well-known and highly regarded distilleries on the island, producing rich, complex whiskies with notes of smoke, seaweed, and brine. Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Caol Ila, Kilchoman, and Bunnahabhain are also popular distilleries on the island, each with its own distinct style and flavor profile.

In addition to whisky, Islay is also known for its gin production. The Botanist, produced by Bruichladdich distillery, is a popular gin made with 22 botanicals, many of which are native to the island. The gin has a complex, herbaceous flavor profile, with notes of juniper, citrus, and wildflowers.

Overall, Islay is a must-visit destination for whisky and gin enthusiasts, offering a unique and diverse range of spirits that are deeply rooted in the island's history and culture.
