Famille Pierre Gaillard is a winery based in Condrieu, in the northern Rhône Valley. The producer works with wines from two of the region's most distinctive appellations: Condrieu, known for its white wines, and Saint-Joseph, which produces both reds and whites. Their current range focuses on the classic grape varieties of northern Rhône viticulture.

Condrieu is one of France's smallest and most exclusive white wine appellations, where Viognier is the sole permitted variety. The wines are characteristically aromatic and full-bodied, with stone fruit and floral notes. Saint-Joseph, by contrast, is built on Syrah for its red wines, which tend toward elegant, medium-bodied expressions with pepper and red fruit character. The northern Rhône's steep terrain and continental climate create distinct conditions that shape these wines' profiles compared to their southern Rhône counterparts.

The producer's portfolio reflects these regional strengths: a Condrieu made from Viognier and a red Saint-Joseph from Syrah, specifically their Clos de Cuminaille bottling. These selections represent the core expression of what the northern Rhône appellations are known for.

In de Rhônevallei wordt al meer dan 500 jaar wijn geproduceerd, waarvan sommige wijngaarden tot de oudste van Frankrijk behoren. The wines are generally meant for relatively early consumption, though well-made examples can age gracefully for several years.
