Double matured in port casks, Port Ruighe, pronounced ‘Portree’ is the Gaelic spelling of the once-bustling trading port on Skye: this malt is a toast to the Scottish traders who braved the high seas and were instrumental in the foundation of the port wine trade. The port finish combines Talisker’s powerful maritime character with succulent sweet notes of rich berry fruits for a superb taste experience. Each sip brings with it a sweet smokiness of a fading wood fire with the fruity richness of ripe plums. Talisker Port Ruighe was made for sipping neat. An essential gift for whisky connoisseurs, looking to explore new depths of flavour amongst smoky island malt whiskies. Dark, rich amber gold colour. Medium bodied and softly textured. Instant, very well balanced nose, and sweet, yet not cloying; overall, rather like the sweet smokiness of a fading wood fire with the fruity richness of ripe plums. Sublime, smoky and savoury palate: spicy pepper rapidly grows into peatiness, as a creamy smokiness mingles with spice and dark fruits. Long, memorable, and mouth-filling finish, leaving on the tongue an appealing and intense cocoa-rich drying smokiness.

Smoky Port Ruighe

Ingredients:
- 60 ml Talisker Port Ruighe
- 15 ml ruby port
- 10 ml honey syrup
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- Orange peel, for garnish

Instructions:
1. In a mixing glass, combine Talisker Port Ruighe, ruby port, honey syrup, and orange bitters.
2. Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir for 20-30 seconds.
3. Strain the mixture into a chilled rocks glass filled with ice.
4. Garnish with an orange peel and serve. Enjoy the smoky and sweet flavors of this cocktail.
