Chateau De Lamarque

Château de Lamarque is a wine estate located in the Haut-Médoc appellation of Bordeaux, France. The château takes its name from the village of Lamarque on the left bank of the Gironde estuary, an area with a long history of viticulture. The estate produces red wines under the Haut-Médoc appellation contrôlée.

Haut-Médoc is one of the broader appellations of the left bank, encompassing several notable communes and a range of terroirs. The region's gravelly soils drain well and provide good heat retention, conditions that favour the ripening of Cabernet Sauvignon and its traditional blending partners. Wines from the appellation tend to display structured tannins, red and dark fruit character, and the capacity for moderate ageing.

The estate works with the classic Bordeaux varieties — Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot — the same combination that defines left-bank blending across the Médoc. Château de Lamarque also produces a kosher-certified expression of its Haut-Médoc red, made under rabbinical supervision, which broadens its accessibility to observant Jewish consumers without departing from the traditional varietal composition of the region.
