About this wine

Pian delle Vigne is a renowned producer of Brunello di Montalcino, one of the most prestigious wines in Italy. The estate is located in the heart of the Montalcino region, in Tuscany, and covers an area of over 180 hectares, of which 65 are dedicated to vineyards.

The history of Pian delle Vigne dates back to the 19th century, when the estate was acquired by the Antinori family, one of the most prominent wine producers in Italy. The family recognized the potential of the Montalcino region for producing high-quality wines and invested heavily in the estate, modernizing the vineyards and the winery.

Today, Pian delle Vigne is known for its exceptional Brunello di Montalcino, which is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. The wine is aged for at least two years in oak barrels and then for an additional year in the bottle before being released to the market. The result is a wine that is rich, complex, and full-bodied, with aromas of red fruit, leather, and tobacco.

In addition to Brunello di Montalcino, Pian delle Vigne also produces a range of other wines, including Rosso di Montalcino, which is made from the same Sangiovese grapes as Brunello but is aged for a shorter period of time. This wine is lighter and more approachable than Brunello, with notes of cherry and spice.

Pian delle Vigne also produces a white wine, called Sant'Antimo Bianco, which is made from a blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. This wine is fermented and aged in oak barrels, giving it a rich, creamy texture and notes of tropical fruit and vanilla.

Overall, Pian delle Vigne is a producer that is dedicated to quality and tradition, using only the best grapes and the most modern winemaking techniques to create wines that are both elegant and complex. Whether you are a fan of red or white wines, Pian delle Vigne has something to offer, and its Brunello di Montalcino is sure to impress even the most discerning wine connoisseur.
