Quince and white peach preserves fill the nose caressingly coat the palate from Huet’s 2009 Vouvray Moelleux Clos du Bourg, which displays a combination of lift and delicacy with its honeyed richness that none of the present collection tasted up until this point approach. Here are brightness, energy, and efficacious acids driving the quince, pineapple, seamlessly forward. Here, too are mineral nuances too often missing from the sweet Vouvray and Montlouis of this vintage. Expect this superbly persistent bottling to be worth following for a quarter century.
Domaine Huet - Vouvray - Clos du Bourg - Moelleux
Domaine Huet is a renowned producer of Vouvray wines, located in the Loire Valley of France. Their Clos du Bourg Moelleux is a sweet wine that is sure to delight any wine lover.
The taste profile of this wine is complex and layered, with notes of honey, apricot, and citrus. It has a rich, full-bodied mouthfeel and a long, lingering finish. The sweetness is perfectly balanced by a refreshing acidity, making it a great choice for pairing with a variety of foods.
The history of Domaine Huet dates back to 1928, when Victor Huet purchased the first vineyards in Vouvray. Since then, the estate has been passed down through the family and is now run by Jean-Bernard Berthomé. The vineyards are farmed using biodynamic practices, which emphasizes the importance of the relationship between the soil, plants, and animals.
This wine is best enjoyed in a relaxed setting, perhaps with a cheese plate or dessert. Its sweetness makes it a great choice for sipping on its own, but it can also be paired with spicy or savory dishes to balance out the flavors. Whether you're a seasoned wine connoisseur or just starting to explore the world of wine, Domaine Huet's Clos du Bourg Moelleux is a must-try.
