Capichera

Capichera is a family estate located in Arzachena, in the Gallura zone of northeastern Sardinia. The property has long been associated with serious winemaking in a region where viticulture is shaped by granite soils, strong winds, and intense Mediterranean sunshine.

Gallura is the only DOCG in Sardinia, and it is dedicated exclusively to Vermentino. The designation recognises that the combination of granitic terrain and the cooling influence of the maestrale wind produces a distinctively structured, aromatic expression of the variety — one that tends toward greater weight, mineral tension, and aging potential than Vermentino grown elsewhere in the island or on the Italian mainland. Capichera has been closely associated with demonstrating that ambition, vinifying Vermentino with the kind of care more commonly applied to prestige white wines from other parts of Europe.

The estate's Vermentino di Gallura DOCG is the foundation of what they produce, expressing the characteristic aromatic profile of the grape — stone fruit, white flowers, and a saline, mineral finish — within the framework of a well-defined appellation.
