This fine rum is an exclusive and precious expression of the best that such a spirit can offer. It is produced in only 1,000 rum bottles each year. There will never be a rum that better expresses the Cuban rum culture and its rich traditions than the Havana Club Máximo Extra Añejo. Intense yet balanced, it has an amber glow, deepened by extra ageing. On the nose, the expression is outstandingly rich, intense, and persistent, yet has a delicate aroma that balances oak and smoky notes with subtle tones of fresh pear, coconut and dried fruit. Both dry and sweet, the oaky flavours of this Cuban rum impart a silky opulence and a cascade of dark chocolate, dried fruits, and a hint of vanilla. Its warm, long finish presents spicy notes.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Havana Club - Maximo Extra Anejo Rum
  • 15 ml Demerara Sugar Syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
  • 1 Lemon Twist

Method

  1. Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes.
  2. Add the Havana Club - Maximo Extra Anejo Rum, Demerara Sugar Syrup, Angostura Bitters, and Peychaud's Bitters.
  3. Stir gently for 30 seconds until well-chilled.
  4. Strain the mixture into a chilled coupe glass.
  5. Express the lemon twist over the drink to release the oils, then discard the twist.
