Benoît Ente

Benoît Ente is a small-scale vigneron based in Puligny-Montrachet, one of the most celebrated white wine villages on the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. He works with estate vineyards in and around the village, producing wines that reflect the meticulous, terroir-focused approach associated with the finest domaines in this part of the Côte d'Or.

Puligny-Montrachet is planted almost exclusively with Chardonnay and is regarded as one of the benchmark appellations for white Burgundy. The village's limestone-rich soils, combined with its elevation and east-facing exposure, produce wines that tend toward precision and minerality, with a structure capable of supporting extended ageing. Premier Cru vineyards here occupy some of the most prized parcels on the slope, each with its own microterroirial character.

Clos de la Truffière is a lieu-dit within the Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru classification. The name refers historically to the presence of truffles in the area, and wines from this site typically display the taut, mineral-driven profile characteristic of Puligny's upper premier cru vineyards. Ente's rendition of this wine is made in a style that prioritises clarity of fruit and site expression over oak influence.
