Tasting notes
This Brunello di Montalcino shows ripe cherry and blackberry fruit, with soft, ripe layers running throughout. It is rich and plump in style, with more concentration than average. On the palate, the dark fruit flavours give way to spice, earth and toasted chestnut husk. The tannins are solid and chalky. The wine is almost ready to drink straight away.

Key characteristics
About this wine
Voliero's Brunello di Montalcino is 100% Sangiovese from one of Italy's most demanding appellations, grown on the hillsides around Montalcino in southern Tuscany. The DOCG's strict ageing requirements mean this is a wine built for the table, not the impulse pour.
At 15% ABV it carries real weight, expect dried cherry, iron, leather and firm, drying tannins with a long, savoury finish. Serve it with roasted lamb, venison, game birds or a proper bistecca. Decant generously and give it time in the glass.
