Don Julio Reposado is a premium tequila that is aged for a minimum of 8 months in American white oak barrels. This process gives the tequila a rich and smooth taste profile that is perfect for sipping or mixing in cocktails.

The history of Don Julio dates back to 1942 when Don Julio González founded his distillery in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. He was a pioneer in the tequila industry and his passion for creating the perfect tequila is reflected in every bottle of Don Julio.

Don Julio Reposado has a golden amber color and a complex aroma of caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak. On the palate, it has a smooth and sweet taste with notes of honey, agave, and cinnamon. The finish is long and warm with a hint of spice.

This tequila is perfect for sipping on its own or mixing in cocktails such as margaritas or palomas. It pairs well with Mexican cuisine and is a great addition to any tequila collection.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Don Julio - Reposado
  • 30 ml fresh lime juice
  • 15 ml agave nectar
  • 15 ml Cointreau
  • 2 dashes of orange bitters
  • Lime wheel and a pinch of smoked sea salt for garnish

Method

  1. Fill a shaker with ice.
  2. Add Don Julio - Reposado, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, Cointreau, and orange bitters.
  3. Shake well for 10–15 seconds.
  4. Strain into a chilled rocks glass over a large ice cube.
  5. Garnish with a lime wheel and a pinch of smoked sea salt on top.

Serve

A rocks glass with a golden-hued cocktail, featuring a large, clear ice cube. Garnished with a vibrant lime wheel and a sprinkle of smoked sea salt.
