WhistlePig Old World Rye is a celebration of Old World flavors, born from extensive experimentation and traditional craftsmanship. After aging for over a decade in new American oak barrels, the whiskey is divided into three types of barrels, each contributing unique characteristics to the blend: 63% aged in Madeira barrels, 30% in Sauternes barrels, and 7% in Port barrels. Our master blender skillfully combines these flavors, much like a conductor composes a symphony.

The Pig's Whistle is a stirred cocktail made with WhistlePig - Rye - 12 yrs, served in a coupe.

4cm-wide orange peel twisted over the drink's surface and placed on the rim, and a single luxardo cherry suspended on a cocktail pick laid across the glass rim

Ingredients

  • 60 ml WhistlePig Rye 12 Years
  • 22.5 ml Amaro Averna
  • 15 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 10 ml Maple Syrup
  • 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 1 Dash Walnut Bitters
  • Ice (for mixing)

Method

  1. Fill a mixing glass with ice
  2. Pour the WhistlePig Rye 12 Years into the mixing glass
  3. Add the Amaro Averna
  4. Add the fresh lemon juice
  5. Add the maple syrup
  6. Add both dashes of Angostura bitters and walnut bitters
  7. Stir continuously for 12-15 seconds until well-chilled
  8. Strain into the prepared glass using a Hawthorne strainer
  9. Express the oils from an orange peel over the surface

Serve

Coupe glass chilled for 2 minutes prior to service. Garnish with a 4cm-wide orange peel twisted over the drink's surface and placed on the rim. Finish with a single luxardo cherry suspended on a cocktail pick laid across the glass rim.
