Tasting notes
The 2023 Bianco Secco is a traditional blend of Garganega, Trebbiano Toscano, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Saorin. This fifth grape variety is the local name for Tocai or Friuliano, and as far as I know, only the Quintarelli family still refers to it by its local name "Saorin". The wine is partly aged in oak, the rest in stainless steel tanks. A small percentage of the blend is appassimented. This is done by adding a small portion of the air-dried Passito Amabile del Cerè to this wine. The Bianco Secco offers plenty of sweet melon and peach with a medium-bodied texture. The bouquet is characterised by beautiful mineral notes.

Key characteristics
About this wine
Giuseppe Quintarelli's Bianco Secco represents a distinctive approach to white winemaking in Veneto, Italy's most prolific wine region. Crafted from a compelling blend of Chardonnay, Garganega, and Cabernet Sauvignon, this Veneto IGT showcases the producer's philosophy of balancing international and indigenous varieties to create wines of genuine character and complexity.
The wine displays a medium-bodied profile with mineral-driven aromatics and notes of stone and tropical fruits, underpinned by refreshing acidity. At 12.5% ABV, it achieves an elegant balance of power and restraint. The inclusion of Cabernet Sauvignon in a white wine is unconventional yet thoughtfully executed, adding textural depth and a subtle structural framework rarely found in dry whites from the region.
This is an exceptionally versatile wine for discerning tables. Serve it with seafood, white fish preparations, creamy pasta dishes, or lighter poultry courses. Its mineral character and medium weight make it equally suited to aperitif service or pairing with fine dining menus where a sophisticated white of substance is required.
