Saint Maur

Located in the heart of the prestigious Saint-Émilion appellation in Bordeaux, France, Saint Maur is a renowned wine producer that has been crafting exceptional wines for over three centuries. Their vineyards, nestled in the rolling hills of the Right Bank of the Dordogne River, benefit from the region's unique terroir and climate, resulting in wines that are elegant, complex, and full of character.

The history of Saint Maur dates back to the 18th century when the estate was owned by the de Bart family. It wasn't until the 1980s when the estate was acquired by the renowned winemaker, Jean-Luc Thunevin, that Saint Maur began to establish itself as one of the top producers in Saint-Émilion. Under Thunevin's guidance, the estate underwent significant renovations and modernization, including implementing sustainable farming practices and investing in state-of-the-art winemaking techniques.

Today, Saint Maur is run by Thunevin's children, Mathilde and Antoine, who continue to uphold their father's legacy by producing exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of Saint-Émilion. The estate has a total of 10 hectares of vineyards, with the majority planted with Merlot, the dominant grape variety in Saint-Émilion. The remaining vineyards are planted with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, which add complexity and structure to the blends.

One of Saint Maur's most famous wines is their Grand Cru Classé, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon that is aged in French oak barrels for 12 to 18 months. This wine is a true expression of the terroir, with its rich aromas of black fruits, spices, and subtle hints of tobacco. On the palate, it is velvety and well-structured, with a long, lingering finish.

In addition to their Grand Cru Classé, Saint Maur also produces a
