Olifantsberg is a boutique wine producer located in the Breedekloof region of South Africa. This family-owned estate is situated on the slopes of the Olifantsberg Mountain, which translates to "Elephant's Mountain" in Afrikaans. The name is derived from the majestic elephant-shaped silhouette formed by the mountain, making it a unique and iconic landmark in the area.

The Breedekloof region is renowned for its diverse terroir, with varying altitudes, soil types, and microclimates that contribute to the production of high-quality wines. The Olifantsberg estate covers 242 hectares of land, with 60 hectares dedicated to vineyards. These vineyards are situated at an altitude of 250 to 450 meters above sea level, allowing for cool temperatures and a longer ripening period, resulting in well-balanced and complex wines.

The estate is committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices, with a focus on minimal intervention in the vineyards. This approach ensures that the grapes are of the highest quality and reflect the unique terroir of the Breedekloof region.

Olifantsberg produces a range of wines, including Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinotage. The winemaking process is overseen by the talented and experienced winemaker, Jacques de Klerk, who brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the production of these exceptional wines.
