For three generations, the Riascos family has been creating fine rums in Colombia with an uncompromising dedication to quality and taste. By scouring the Caribbean for the finest raw spirits, seeking out the richest casks, attracting the most talented maestro ronero, the family has created a distinct style with an authentic history. It is in the heart of Barranquilla, one of the most important cities in the country, that the bodega that produces La Hechicera old rum is located. Giraldo Mituoka Kagana is the distillery's maestro ronero. The son of Japanese immigrants, Giraldo began his career cutting sugar cane for the Cuban revolution and has since been perfecting his knowledge of rum. He oversees the demanding and precise process to obtain this extremely pure, delicate and authentic rum.

The Solera method is an aging process used in particular for rum. The angels' share of the oldest rums is supplemented by younger alcohol. This method allows the old to educate the youngest. It also makes it possible to maintain a style, a real common thread between the different productions.
