Domaine Tissot Maire

Domaine Tissot Maire is a highly acclaimed winery located in the beautiful Jura region of eastern France. This small family-owned estate is known for producing exceptional wines that showcase the unique characteristics of the Jura terroir.

The Domaine Tissot Maire estate has a long history dating back to the 19th century when it was first established by the Tissot family. Today, the winery is run by brothers Stéphane and Bénédicte Tissot, who have continued the family's tradition of crafting top-quality wines using sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

The Jura region is situated between the Burgundy and Swiss wine regions and is known for its cool climate and diverse terroir. This unique combination of factors allows for the production of a wide range of wines, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and indigenous grape varieties such as Savagnin and Poulsard.

The Domaine Tissot Maire estate covers 35 hectares of vineyards, spread across different terroirs within the Jura region. The vineyards are managed with great care and attention to detail, with a focus on low yields and organic viticulture. This results in grapes of exceptional quality, which are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before being vinified.

One of the standout wines from Domaine Tissot Maire is their Chardonnay "Les Graviers." This wine is made from grapes grown on gravely soils, giving it a unique mineral character and a fresh, crisp acidity. Another notable wine is their Savagnin "En Barberon," a white wine aged under a layer of yeast known as "voile" in the traditional Jura style.

In addition to their exceptional still wines, Domaine Tissot Maire also produces a range of sparkling wines, including a traditional method Crémant du Jura and a pet-nat made from the indigenous grape variety, Poulsard
