Domaine Richaume

Located in the heart of the Provence region in southern France, Domaine Richaume is a renowned wine producer known for its exceptional quality and commitment to sustainable viticulture. Founded in 1972 by renowned winemaker Jean Richaume, the estate is now run by his son, Alain Richaume, who continues the family tradition of producing exquisite wines that capture the essence of the Provençal terroir.

The estate covers 25 hectares of prime vineyards, situated on the slopes of the Sainte-Victoire mountain, which provides a unique microclimate and ideal soil composition for grape growing. The vines are mostly planted with traditional Provençal grape varieties such as Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, but also include some international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The combination of these grape varieties, along with the unique terroir, results in wines with a distinct character and complexity.

Domaine Richaume practices sustainable viticulture, which involves using organic and biodynamic methods to cultivate the vines and preserve the natural balance of the ecosystem. This approach not only produces healthier grapes but also reflects the estate's commitment to environmental conservation.

The flagship wine of Domaine Richaume is their Cuvée César, a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre that is aged in oak barrels for 18 months. This elegant red wine boasts a deep ruby color and offers aromas of black fruits, spices, and herbs. On the palate, it is full-bodied with velvety tannins and a long finish, making it a perfect pairing for rich and flavorful dishes.

In addition to their red wines, Domaine Richaume also produces a range of white and rosé wines, each with its own unique characteristics and flavors. Their white wines, made from a blend of Vermentino and Viognier, offer a refreshing and crisp taste with citrus and floral notes.
