Château Trotanoy

Château Trotanoy was one of the first recognised Premier Cru sites on the Pomerol plateau, with records dating back to the late 1700s. Even back in the nineteenth century it was seen as the best site in Pomerol second only to Vieux Château Certan.

The Chateau was acquired in 1953 by Jean-Pierre Moueix. It is now managed by Christian Moueix, son of Jean-Pierre, assisted by his son Edouard.

The culture is done in a completely traditional way with regular plowing, thinning and stripping. The technical direction of of Trotanoy, common to the various Jean-Pierre Moueix properties, was provided for a long time by Jean-Claude Berrouet who retired in 2007.  It has since been in the hands of Eric Murisasco who continues to benefit from the advice of Jean-Claude Berrouet as consultant.
