About this whisky
Matsui Shuzo is a Japanese distillery that has been producing high-quality spirits for over a century. The Kurayoshi 18-year-old whisky is a testament to their dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The history of Matsui Shuzo dates back to 1910 when the founder, Kurayoshi Matsui, established the distillery in Tottori Prefecture. The distillery was originally focused on producing sake, but in the 1940s, they began to produce whisky as well. Over the years, Matsui Shuzo has gained a reputation for producing some of the finest spirits in Japan.
The Kurayoshi 18-year-old whisky is a prime example of the distillery's commitment to quality. This whisky is made using only the finest ingredients, including locally sourced water and barley. The whisky is then aged for 18 years in oak casks, which gives it a rich, complex flavour profile.
The style of production used by Matsui Shuzo is steeped in tradition. The distillery uses a combination of pot stills and column stills to produce their spirits. This allows them to create a wide range of flavours and aromas, which are then carefully blended to create the final product.
The Kurayoshi 18-year-old whisky is a rich, full-bodied spirit with notes of vanilla, caramel, and oak. It has a smooth, velvety texture and a long, lingering finish. This whisky is perfect for sipping on its own or pairing with a rich, decadent dessert.
Overall, Matsui Shuzo is a distillery that is dedicated to producing high-quality spirits using traditional methods. The Kurayoshi 18-year-old whisky is a testament to their commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail. If you're looking for a premium Japanese whisky, this is definitely one to try.
