Tasting notes
Bright ruby in colour with vivid violet hues, this Gamay-driven wine opens with fresh aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry, lifted by delicate floral notes of violet and rose petal. On the palate, it is soft and approachable with silky tannins, offering juicy red fruit flavours alongside hints of spice and a touch of minerality. The finish is clean, fresh, and pleasantly persistent.

About this wine
Saint-Amour is one of Beaujolais's ten crus, and Joseph Drouhin's expression is pure Gamay from this northernmost, granite-soiled corner of the region. Drouhin has long worked across Burgundy and Beaujolais, and this bottling reflects a house style built on precision and restraint rather than sheer fruit-forward simplicity.
Light-bodied and juicy, with the bright red-fruit character and soft tannin structure typical of the appellation, it drinks best with a slight chill at 14-16°C. Pour it with charcuterie, roast chicken, pork or a simple pasta dish, an easy, versatile red for casual on-board dining.
