Tasting notes
Deep ruby in colour with an expressive nose of dark plum, blackberry, and crushed violet, underpinned by classic Northern Rhône notes of smoked meat, black olive, and cracked pepper. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied with firm but well-integrated tannins, vibrant acidity, and layers of dark fruit, graphite, and subtle earthy minerality. The finish is long, savoury, and persistently spiced.

About this wine
Domaine du Colombier makes this Crozes-Hermitage from Syrah grown in the northern Rhône, the appellation's largest and most food-friendly, sitting in the shadow of Hermitage hill.
Expect a dark-fruited, peppery style with notes of black olive and smoked meat, firmer structure and more weight than its Burgundian counterparts. Serve at 16-18°C with beef, lamb, venison or game birds, a reliable red for hearty, robust dishes on board.
