Domaine des Roches Neuves - Saumur - L'Insolite

L'Insolite is a white Saumur from Domaine des Roches Neuves, made entirely from Chenin Blanc in the Loire Valley. Saumur sits in the middle Loire, where the limestone soils and cool river climate give Chenin its characteristic tension.

Expect orchard fruit such as apple, pear and quince, with a waxy, slightly honeyed texture and a firm line of acidity running through it. That freshness makes it a versatile bottle on board. Serve it chilled with oily fish, roast poultry, green vegetables or tofu-based dishes, or alongside a ripe Brie at the end of the meal.
