An organic blend of 60% Nero d'Avola and 40% Frappato, the 2020 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico has a wild side with punchy aromas of cherry, cola, crushed stone and mountain herb. These elements come together seamlessly, giving this wine a good sense of vertical lift and energy. This is a benchmark expression of this Sicilian appellation.
The colour is intense ruby, the nose evokes red fruits, wild strawberries and raspberries, and floral notes, peony and roses. The palate offers fleshy, greedy and very ripe fruit, of a very good intensity, with a velvety and supple texture, with a nice density in the mid-palate. The tannins are very fine, well integrated, already melted.
The 2016 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico is a very nice wine that shows a smooth texture and a delicate approach that grows in intensity. There are small-berry aromas with cassis, wild raspberry and dried blueberry, which would spruce up any pasta like a Sicilian pasta alla Norma. A blend of 40% Frappato and 60% Nero d'Avola aged in oak barrels for 12 months, the wine is delicate and smooth, with tiny steps that go the long haul. The tannins are well integrated and give the wine a firm, upstanding backbone. Some 83,000 bottles were made.
This wine is a blend of 60% Nero d’Avola and 40% Frappato, aged in oak for 12 months. The 2015 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico is a bright, almost glossy expression that delivers pure and elegant fruit. This estate stands out for the elegant and finessed approach bestowed on these two unruly and spirited Sicilian native varieties. COS shows a deft hand in the cellar. This mid-weight red wine is brilliant, buoyant, fresh and lasting.

Cos Viticoltori is a renowned wine producer located in the heart of Sicily, Italy. The winery was founded in 1980 by three friends who shared a passion for winemaking and a desire to showcase the unique terroir of the region. Today, Cos Viticoltori is known for producing some of the finest natural wines in Italy.

The winery's philosophy is rooted in the principles of biodynamic farming, which emphasizes the importance of working in harmony with nature. The vineyards are cultivated without the use of chemicals or synthetic fertilizers, and the grapes are harvested by hand to ensure the highest quality.

Cos Viticoltori produces a range of wines, including red, white, and rosé. The red wines are made from indigenous grape varieties such as Nero d'Avola and Frappato, and are known for their rich, complex flavors and aromas. The white wines are made from the local grape variety, Insolia, and are characterized by their crisp acidity and citrus notes. The rosé is made from a blend of Nero d'Avola and Frappato, and is a refreshing and fruity wine.

The winery's flagship wine is the Cerasuolo di Vittoria, a red wine made from a blend of Nero d'Avola and Frappato grapes. This wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months, which gives it a rich, complex flavor profile with notes of dark fruit, spice, and vanilla.

Cos Viticoltori's commitment to quality and sustainability has earned them numerous accolades over the years. Their wines have been featured in top wine publications such as Wine Spectator and Decanter, and have won awards at prestigious wine competitions around the world.

Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean and has a long history of wine production dating back to ancient times. The island's warm climate and volcanic soil provide ideal conditions for growing a variety of grapes, including Nero d'Avola, Grillo, and Catarratto.

Sicilian wines are known for their bold, full-bodied flavors and high alcohol content. Red wines from the region are particularly popular, with Nero d'Avola being the most widely planted grape variety. These wines are characterized by their dark fruit flavors, such as black cherry and plum, and often have a spicy finish.

White wines from Sicily are also gaining popularity, with Grillo being the most commonly used grape variety. These wines are known for their crisp acidity and citrus flavors, such as lemon and grapefruit.

In addition to wine, Sicily is also known for its production of Marsala, a fortified wine made from a blend of white grapes. This wine is aged for a minimum of one year and has a rich, caramel-like flavor.

Overall, Sicily is a region with a rich history of wine production and a diverse range of styles to offer. Its wines are gaining recognition on the international stage and are definitely worth exploring.
