A blend of 51% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Semillon and the rest Sauvignon Gris, this wine has staggering aromatics of orange blossom, lemon custard, pineapple and mango. Exotic, rich and full-bodied, it should drink nicely for at least 10 -15 years or more.

The 2015 Pape Clement Blanc is blended of 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Sémillon and 10% Sauvignon Gris, fermented in 55% new and 45% one-year-old oak barrels. It aged for 16 months in barrels, with the entire time spent on the fine lees. It has quite a closed, reticent nose featuring ripe peaches, musk perfume and struck flint notes with a suggestion of lemon curd and honeycomb plus a touch of coriander seed. Medium-bodied with a crisp backbone, the intense citrus and stone fruit flavours trail off beautifully into a lingering honeyed finish.

The 2018 Clémentin de Pape Clement Blanc comes skipping out of the glass with bright, cheery notes of fresh pineapple, orange blossoms and Bosc pears, with hints of beeswax and yuzu. The medium-bodied palate has bags of vibrant tropical and citrus fruit flavours with a racy backbone and minerally finish.

Established in 1987, the Pessac-Léognan appellation is relatively young compared to other Bordeaux appellations. However, its history is deeply rooted in the ancient vineyards of the Graves region, which have been producing wine since Roman times. The Pessac-Léognan appellation lies just south of the city of Bordeaux, and its terroir is characterised by gravelly soils, providing excellent drainage and heat retention, which are essential for producing the region's highly-regarded wines.

The production methods used in Pessac-Léognan reflect the region's dedication to quality, innovation, and tradition. Winemakers here employ a combination of traditional and modern techniques, including hand harvesting, meticulous grape selection, and temperature-controlled fermentation. The use of oak barrels for ageing is common, imparting complexity and elegance to the wines. The region is best known for its red wines, which are typically a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, with smaller amounts of Petit Verdot and Malbec.
