Deep ruby in colour with inviting aromas of ripe blackcurrant, sun-warmed garrigue, and hints of dried herbs characteristic of the Mediterranean south. On the palate, bold flavours of dark cherry, plum, and blackberry are complemented by earthy notes of rosemary and leather. The Grenache lends roundness, while Cabernet Sauvignon provides firm structure, and Carignan adds rustic depth. Tannins are robust with a warming, spiced finish.
Figuière Famille Combard produces this red under the Méditerranée IGP, a broad southern French designation that allows for blends beyond strict appellation rules. Here Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Grenache combine, drawing on grapes well suited to the warm, sun-baked conditions of the Mediterranean coast.
Expect a robust, full-bodied red with dark fruit and a firm backbone from the Cabernet and Carignan. It's built for grilled and roasted meats, pairing naturally with beef, lamb, venison and game birds. Serve at 16-18°C, ideal for barbecue nights at anchor.
