Bruno Rocca

Bruno Rocca is a family winery based in Barbaresco, in the Langhe hills of Piedmont, northwestern Italy. The estate has been producing wine in this zone for generations, with Bruno Rocca himself playing a central role in shaping its modern identity. The winery focuses on the wines of Barbaresco DOCG, one of Piedmont's two most celebrated appellations for Nebbiolo.

Barbaresco DOCG sits on the right bank of the Tanaro River, just east of Alba. The appellation produces Nebbiolo-based red wines that tend toward greater aromatic finesse and earlier accessibility compared to neighboring Barolo, though they share the variety's characteristic grip, acidity, and capacity to age. Nebbiolo expresses itself here through notes of dried rose, tar, cherry, and earthy, mineral undertones, with tannin structure that softens over time in the bottle.

Bruno Rocca's current range includes a Barbaresco from the 2022 vintage, made entirely from Nebbiolo as required by the appellation's regulations. The 2022 growing season in Piedmont was marked by warm, dry conditions that generally yielded wines with ripe fruit and good concentration, though individual results varied by site and producer practices.
