Tasting notes
For the past thirty years, Jean Foillard has remained true to his style: natural wines, without artifice, but with remarkable precision. Extremely refined, this wine, a deep garnet color, opens on the nose with floral aromas, crushed red berries, and hints of forest floor. Tender and very pure, the palate is supported by dense, powerful tannins in a superb velvety texture, leading to a long and elegant finish. All the typicity of a great Morgon.

About this wine
Jean Foillard is a legendary producer in Morgon, the most prestigious cru of Beaujolais, renowned for crafting elegant, age-worthy red wines from Gamay grapes. Located in the heart of France's Beaujolais region, Foillard has built a reputation for meticulous winemaking that balances power with finesse, producing wines that transcend the casual perception of Beaujolais.
This Morgon Côte Du Py represents the pinnacle of the appellation, sourced from the iconic granite and slate slopes that define this terroir. The Gamay grape thrives in these conditions, yielding a full-bodied red with earthy complexity, crisp acidity, and an elegant structure. At 14% ABV, it delivers remarkable balance and versatility at the table.
Pair this sophisticated Morgon with beef, poultry, charcuterie, mushroom dishes, and aged cheeses including Brie and Camembert. The wine's saline minerality and earthy character also complement grilled vegetables, tomato-based preparations, and pizza, making it an ideal selection for both fine dining and relaxed entertaining at your villa or yacht.
