Tasting notes

Luminous gold with a green tinge, this premier cru opens with captivating aromas of white peach, citrus blossom, and toasted hazelnut, underscored by a distinctive mineral smokiness reminiscent of flint and crushed chalk. On the palate, it is precise and tensile, with flavors of lemon curd, ripe pear, and subtle vanilla cream. The acidity is bright and laser-focused, carrying a long, saline finish with lingering notes of almond and white flowers.

About this wine

Thomas Morey is a respected domaine in Chassagne-Montrachet, and La Truffière is one of the more compelling premier cru sites in Puligny, a climat that sits close to the Le Montrachet boundary, producing wines of genuine depth and precision. Pure Chardonnay from limestone-rich soils at the heart of the Côte de Beaune.

Expect the hallmarks of serious white Burgundy: taut acidity, mineral drive, and a texture that builds with time in the glass. Citrus, white stone fruit, hazelnut and a saline undercurrent are typical of the site. On board, pair with grilled scallops, a fine sole, or a well-aged Comté.
