The 2018 Quinault l'Enclos has a deep garnet-purple color and beautifully expressed notes of baked black cherries, ripe black plums and boysenberries, plus hints of violets, dark chocolate, star anise and tobacco leaf. The medium-bodied palate has a gorgeous velvety texture and oodles of freshness supporting the perfumed black fruits, finishing long and fragrant. This vintage is a blend of 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, aged in 50% new oak and the rest in one-year-old 500-liter barrels and foudres.
Château Quinault l'Enclos is a prestigious Saint-Émilion Grand Cru estate located in the heart of Bordeaux's most celebrated appellations. The château crafts elegant red wines from a carefully selected blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, reflecting the unique terroir of the Right Bank. This classical approach to winemaking emphasizes balance and finesse, producing wines with distinctive character and aging potential.
The wines of Château Quinault l'Enclos showcase the harmonious interplay of the estate's prime vineyard sites. The medium-bodied style reveals the complexity inherent to Saint-Émilion's clay and limestone soils, where each varietal contributes its own dimension to the final blend. Cabernet Franc brings structure and leafy aromatics, while Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot add depth and roundness.
These red Bordeaux wines pair beautifully with beef, lamb, venison, and game birds, as well as rich poultry dishes and charcuterie boards. The moderate alcohol level and refined tannin structure make them versatile companions for fine dining and special occasions, whether enjoyed at your villa, yacht, or private cellar.
