Tasting notes
Golden in color with silver highlights, its precise nose is fresh with notes of pears and white flowers. On the palate, it's an explosion of fruit and flowers, ending with a saline and energetic finish. A bite of breaded sweetbreads, roasted in butter on a slice of toasted bread with dried fruit. Or roasted apricot, with a lightly sweetened almond cream and a smooth, lightly whipped cream.

About this wine
Made by Famille Pierre Gaillard in Condrieu, on the granite terraces of the northern Rhône, l'Octroi is a single-appellation Viognier grown on the steep, sun-facing slopes above the river. It reflects the classic grape and vineyard character that define this small, prestigious appellation.
Expect the textural richness and floral lift that mark good Condrieu, apricot skin, white blossom and a touch of honeysuckle over a broad, oily palate. Serve chilled with scallops, lobster or a creamy fish course; its weight and perfume also handle spiced dishes well at anchor.
