Thomas Morey

Thomas Morey is a winemaker based in Chassagne-Montrachet, on the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. He represents a younger generation of the Morey family, a name long associated with this village, and began producing wines under his own domaine label. His wines come from vineyards across the two neighbouring white-wine appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet.

Both appellations sit at the heart of Burgundy's white wine country, where Chardonnay grown on Kimmeridgian limestone and marl soils produces wines of notable minerality and structure. Chassagne-Montrachet tends toward a slightly broader, more textured expression, while Puligny-Montrachet is typically more precise and linear. Premier Cru vineyards in both appellations occupy the most favoured mid-slope sites, with individual lieu-dits imparting distinct character to each wine.

The range includes Premier Cru whites from both appellations, among them La Truffière in Puligny-Montrachet and Les Chenevottes in Chassagne-Montrachet. La Truffière is a relatively small Premier Cru known for wines of depth and grip, while Les Chenevottes is one of Chassagne's more elegant Premier Cru sites, producing wines with good freshness and floral lift. All wines are made from Chardonnay.
