Maestro Dobel

Maestro Dobel is a tequila brand based in Mexico, produced under the supervision of Juan Domingo Beckmann, a member of the Cuervo family with deep roots in Mexican spirits production. The brand operates within the legally defined Tequila appellation, using blue agave (Agave tequilana Weber) grown in the region's volcanic, mineral-rich soils.

Dobel is particularly associated with innovation in tequila production, most notably its Diamante expression, which combines aged tequilas — including reposado, añejo, and extra añejo — that are then filtered to achieve a crystal-clear appearance despite the aging process. This technique results in a spirit that carries the developed flavors of wood-aged tequila while presenting with the visual clarity of a blanco, a relatively uncommon approach in the category.

The Diamante Reposado sits at the intersection of traditional aging and contemporary production methods. Reposado tequilas, by regulation, must rest in oak for a minimum of two months and no longer than one year, and in Dobel's case this aging contributes notes of vanilla, cooked agave, and light oak before the filtration process refines the final profile.
