Rosé, Bandol & the Provence Deep-Cut: Our 5,289-Bottle Season

Rosé is the defining wine of Mediterranean yacht charter. In our most recent full season, Onshore Cellars supplied thousands of bottles of rosé across dozens of estates — a volume that speaks to our position as the reference supplier for this category. From the first Whispering Angel of April to the last Domaine Tempier Bandol of October, we held the stock, maintained the cold chain, and delivered to the pontoon. This article maps the full landscape.

Whispering Angel: The Anchor of the Category

Château d'Esclans Whispering Angel 2024 was our single highest-volume wine by bottles sold across the entire season — 1,046 bottles, This is remarkable for a wine average price: it speaks to the sheer volume consumed aboard superyachts across a summer season. Whispering Angel has become a cultural shorthand for a certain kind of luxury Mediterranean afternoon, and we stock it in standard bottles, half-bottles, magnums, double magnums, and the spectacular Salmanazer (9 litres) format.

Alongside Whispering Angel, we supplied Rock Angel, Garrus — at the very top of the Esclans prestige hierarchy — and Les Clans. The full Château d'Esclans hierarchy represents the spectrum from celebratory aperitif to genuine fine wine — and we supply the entire range.

Domaines Ott: The Prestige Standard

No producer better illustrates the gap between Provence rosé as a commodity and Provence rosé as a serious wine than Domaines Ott. We supplied 361 bottles of Château de Selle 2024, 299 bottles of Clos Mireille 2024, and 282 bottles of Château Romassan Bandol Rosé 2024 in a single season. The Ott Étoile, , moved 30 bottles. These are wines that belong on the finest tables in the world, and they are presented with the care they deserve when supplied by Onshore Cellars.

Minuty: The Riviera Estate

Château Minuty is one of the most decorated estates in Provence, and we are proud to be one of its principal yacht-sector suppliers. In the past season we moved 269 bottles of M de Minuty, 298 bottles of the Prestige, 195 of the Château Minuty 281, and 195 of the iconic Rose et Or. Magnums of the 281 and the Rose et Or are stocked as standing items — presentation format matters on a yacht, and Minuty's bottles deliver visual impact that guests remember.

5,289 bottles of rosé in a single season. Over 1,046 of Whispering Angel alone. The range we supply — from Minuty and Ott to Garrus and Domaine Tempier — covers every occasion from beach club to formal dinner.

Bandol: The Serious Rosé

While Provence rosé is defined by freshness and approachability, Bandol rosé demands to be taken seriously. We supplied 108 bottles of Domaine Tempier Bandol Rosé 2024 — a wine that requires cellaring, benefits from decanting, and pairs magnificently with the Mediterranean fish dishes that appear on superyacht dinner menus. We also stock Château Romassan (the Ott Bandol estate), Domaine de Terrebrune, and Château Pradeaux.

The chef who pairs a Bandol rosé from Domaine Tempier with a bouillabaisse is making a statement about quality that a guest with any serious wine knowledge will recognise immediately.

The 2026 Rosé Season: What We Are Watching

The trend we are tracking most closely in 2026 is the growing demand for prestige-format rosé — magnums, double magnums, and larger formats that create visual impact at the table and age more gracefully than standard bottles. We have responded by significantly expanding our magnum and large-format rosé stock. Contact us early in the season if you require guaranteed allocation of Garrus, Ott Clos Mireille, or Minuty 281 magnums.
