Ingredients
- 45 ml Rémy Martin Louis XIII Cognac
- 15 ml Bénédictine DOM
- 10 ml Crème de Violette
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 sugar cube
- 5 ml filtered water
Method
- Place the sugar cube in a mixing glass
- Add the Angostura bitters and filtered water to the sugar cube
- Gently muddle until the sugar dissolves completely
- Add the Rémy Martin Louis XIII Cognac, Bénédictine DOM, and Crème de Violette
- Fill the mixing glass with large ice cubes
- Stir continuously for 45 seconds until properly chilled and diluted
- Strain through a fine mesh strainer into the prepared glass
Serve
Serve in a crystal coupe glass with a single large ice sphere (2 inches diameter). Garnish with a crystallized violet placed on the rim and a twisted expression of lemon peel draped over the ice sphere. Present with a small silver spoon resting across the glass rim.
