The Moser Family operates in China's Ningxia region, specifically in the Helan Mountain appellation, where they produce red wines. Ningxia has emerged as China's most significant wine-producing region over the past two decades, with the Helan Mountain area benefiting from a continental climate, sandy soils, and protection from the surrounding mountains that create favorable conditions for viticulture.

The Helan Mountain appellation sits along the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountain range, where the terroir combines well-draining alluvial soils with significant diurnal temperature variation. This climate allows grapes to develop concentrated flavors while maintaining acidity. The region receives limited rainfall, requiring irrigation, but enjoys abundant sunshine during the growing season. International grape varieties, particularly Bordeaux varietals, have shown strong adaptation to these conditions.

The Moser Family currently focuses on Cabernet Sauvignon from their Helan Mountain vineyards, working with this classic Bordeaux variety that has proven well-suited to Ningxia's climate and soil conditions.

Helan Mountain is a wine appellation located in China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, situated at the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountain range along the Yellow River valley. This high-altitude wine region sits approximately 1,100 meters above sea level, positioned between the Tengger Desert to the west and the Yellow River to the east. The area has emerged as one of China's most significant wine-producing regions in recent decades.

The appellation benefits from a continental climate with significant diurnal temperature variation, creating favorable conditions for grape ripening and flavor development. The terroir is characterized by alluvial soils deposited by the Yellow River over millennia, combined with gravel and sandy loam that provide excellent drainage. The region's arid climate necessitates irrigation, typically sourced from the Yellow River, while the Helan Mountains provide protection from harsh westerly winds and sandstorms from the Gobi Desert.

Wines from Helan Mountain tend to display concentrated fruit characteristics with good structure, benefiting from the region's intense sunlight and cool nights. Cabernet Sauvignon, which thrives in this terroir, typically produces wines with dark fruit flavors and firm tannins. The combination of high altitude, temperature fluctuations, and careful vineyard management contributes to wines with notable color intensity and aromatic complexity.
