Speri

Speri is a winery based in Valpolicella, in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy. The producer focuses on red wines from this historic wine-producing area, drawing on the region's traditional varieties and winemaking methods.

Valpolicella is recognized for its distinctive ripasso technique, in which wine is re-fermented on the dried skins left over from amarone production, adding complexity and depth. This method creates wines with structure and concentration while remaining lighter than amarone itself. The appellation's primary grape is Corvina, a variety prized for its acidity, bright red fruit character, and ability to age with grace.

Speri's current offering includes a Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso, a wine that exemplifies the ripasso approach. These wines sit between standard Valpolicella and the full richness of amarone, offering a middle ground that balances fruit intensity with freshness and food-friendliness.
