Tasting notes
This Franchetti is beautiful, jumping out of the glass, spicy and intense, showing off its Cesanese aromas with a mix of blackberries, lavender, sage, white pepper and smoke that make it impossible to ignore. This wine is very structured, almost creamy yet tangy, with medium body and a salty core of minerality that balances the masses of ripe dark fruit and sweet herbal notes. The length is amazing, as is the harmony within. It finishes structured yet supple, with violet flowers and nuances of plum jam that linger. This wine is already very appealing, elegance personified, but the best is surely yet to come.

About this wine
Passopisciaro's Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT is a full-bodied red wine crafted from Petit Verdot, capturing the bold character of Sicily's sun-drenched terroir. This warming, high-alcohol expression showcases the grape's natural peppery and herbaceous qualities, alongside rich black fruit flavors that define the Terre Siciliane appellation. The wine's structure and intensity make it a distinctive choice for collectors seeking authentic Sicilian character.
Petit Verdot thrives in Sicily's Mediterranean climate, developing concentrated flavors and firm tannins that reward both near-term enjoyment and cellar aging. Passopisciaro's winemaking philosophy emphasizes the expression of terroir, allowing the volcanic soils and warm growing season to shape the wine's profile. This red pairs beautifully with robust dishes: grilled meats, venison, lamb, and beef showcase its depth, while blue cheese, manchego, and cured charcuterie complement its peppery notes. It's equally at home alongside mushroom risotto and fresh herb-forward pasta dishes, making it a versatile addition to refined entertaining in villas and fine dining settings.
