About this whisky
Cardhu is a renowned Scottish distillery that has been producing high-quality whisky for over 200 years. The distillery is located in the Speyside region of Scotland, which is known for its exceptional whisky production. Cardhu's Amber Rock is a single malt whisky that is aged in American oak casks, which gives it a smooth and rich flavour.
The history of Cardhu dates back to 1811 when John Cumming and his wife Helen started producing whisky in their farmhouse. The whisky was so popular that they soon had to expand their production and build a distillery. In 1885, the distillery was sold to John Walker & Sons, who used Cardhu whisky as a key component in their blended whiskies. Today, Cardhu is owned by Diageo and continues to produce exceptional single malt whiskies.
Cardhu's Amber Rock is a testament to the distillery's commitment to quality and tradition. The whisky is made using only the finest ingredients, including locally sourced barley and pure spring water from the nearby Mannoch Hill. The whisky is then aged in American oak casks, which gives it a smooth and rich flavour with notes of vanilla, honey, and caramel.
Cardhu's Amber Rock is a perfect example of a Speyside single malt whisky. It has a light and fruity aroma with hints of apple and pear. On the palate, the whisky is smooth and creamy with a sweet and spicy finish. The whisky is best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water to bring out its full flavour.
Overall, Cardhu's Amber Rock is a must-try for any whisky enthusiast. Its rich history, commitment to quality, and exceptional flavour make it one of the best single malt whiskies on the market. Whether you're a seasoned whisky drinker or just starting out, Cardhu's Amber Rock is sure to impress.
