Tasting notes
The nose is generous and ripe, with peach, baked apple, pastry cream and sweet fruit. The palate is beautifully balanced and shows good intensity, with flavours of sweet almond cake and macadamia nut, and perhaps a subtle hint of green tea. A small proportion of Nebbiolo adds extra tension and structure, giving the wine more shape than one might expect.

About this wine
Roagna is one of Piedmont's most respected traditional producers, best known for Barolo and Barbaresco, but Solea shows a different side of the estate. This Langhe DOC white blends Chardonnay with Nebbiolo, an unusual pairing that speaks to Piedmontese experimentation within a classical framework.
Expect a structured, textured white with the weight and grip that Nebbiolo brings even in its white-wine role, balanced by Chardonnay's natural breadth and fruit. It drinks well with shellfish, white fish, fresh pasta with butter or cream, and a well-aged hard cheese from the board.
