This still-vibrant yet mature white exhibits the curious aging curve of Rhône-white blends. A Roussanne-dominant wine matured eight months in oak, it's rounded and weighty but maintains a core of pert white pear and lemon flavours. Delicately smoky and kissed by honey, nougat and almond pit, the wine should continue to evolve beautifully through 2030 and likely hold further.
The 2013 IGP Vaucluse Aliot is a bit chalky and austere. Yes, it remains fresh and appealing, marked by notes of citrus rind, but it lacks the richness and generosity of the 2017.
