Ypioca

Ypioca is one of Brazil's most established cachaça producers, based in the state of Ceará in the northeast of the country. The brand has long been associated with making cachaça, the distinctly Brazilian spirit distilled from fresh sugarcane juice, which distinguishes it from rum, which is typically made from molasses.

Cachaça produced in Brazil ranges from unaged (prata or silver) expressions, which retain the fresh, grassy, and vegetal character of raw sugarcane juice, to aged (ouro or gold) versions rested in wood, which develop greater complexity and softer profiles. Ypioca's Silver Prata falls into the unaged category, making it well suited to classic Brazilian cocktails such as the caipirinha, where the spirit's clean, bright sugarcane character plays a central role. Prata styles are generally bottled shortly after distillation, preserving the crisp and slightly herbal qualities inherent to freshly pressed cane.
