Glenfiddich

Glenfiddich is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery located in Dufftown, Scotland. The distillery was established in 1887 by William Grant and remains family-owned, operated by William Grant & Sons. Glenfiddich produces exclusively single malt whisky using traditional copper pot stills and draws water from the Robbie Dhu springs.

Speyside is Scotland's most densely populated whisky region, known for producing elegant, complex single malts with characteristic apple and pear fruit notes, honey sweetness, and subtle spice. The region's whiskies typically display less peat influence than Islay malts and more delicate profiles than Highland expressions. Glenfiddich exemplifies the Speyside style with whiskies that emphasize smoothness, balance, and accessible flavor profiles that showcase the influence of oak maturation.

The distillery's current range includes age-statement expressions from 15 to 18 years, along with specialty finishes such as their Malt Master's Edition featuring sherry cask maturation. These whiskies demonstrate the distillery's approach to extended aging and wood influence, with the older expressions developing increased complexity and deeper fruit and spice characteristics typical of well-aged Speyside malts.
