Cachaca 51

Cachaça 51 is one of Brazil's most widely recognised cachaça brands, produced by Companhia Müller de Bebidas in São Paulo state. Cachaça itself is a distilled spirit made from fresh sugarcane juice, making it distinct from rum, which is typically produced from molasses. Brazil is the world's largest producer of cachaça, and the spirit holds protected geographical indication status as a uniquely Brazilian product.

The standard Cachaça 51 expression is an unaged, or minimally rested, silver cachaça, bottled at 42% ABV. It is produced in a column-distilled style, resulting in a clean, light-bodied spirit with grassy, slightly sweet sugarcane character. This style of cachaça is the most commonly consumed category in Brazil and forms the base of the caipirinha, the country's national cocktail, made with lime, sugar, and ice.
